Tainted By Trolls is an electronic rock music project by Shane Otis of Berkeley California. Tainted By Trolls sounds like a full rock band performed by a single person live + computer. With the use of loops, triggers and integrated performances, Shane has written original music and transformed it into live performance. Tainted By Trolls is sort of like a DJ integrated with guitar and vocals. It's a live performance of original compositions, parts of which are sequenced by computer and parts of which are performed on real instruments, sometimes including live singing. Having been longtime fan of edgy and classic rock, psychedelic electronic music and intelligent writing, Shane has combined these influences to perform as Tainted By Trolls.

TBT could at times be suggested to be influenced by Jeff Beck, Adrian Belew, Ritchie Blackmore, Porcupine Tree, NIN, King Crimson combined with the elements of Hallucinogen, Shpongle, Radiohead, Aphex Twin.

Volume of performance can be optimized, depending upon the gig from loud megawatt dance gig situations to more intimite living room settings..The live setup can be modified depending upon the performance space - if no PA available, TBT provides it's own and is fairly self-contained with powered speakers, a computer, a guitar and guitar amp. If PA is available say, in a club environment, then the PA speakers can be used as monitors instead.
