Artist Bio.
Angeline Spaeth was born in 1976 to an unlicensed hippie midwife from Santa Cruz, CA who had a swimming pool with windows for a bottom which resembled a large human aquarium. She grew up in the Sierra foothills in Sonora, CA where oddly enough, she ended up running with a group of friends who had also been born to the same credential-lacking, human fish-watching deliverer of babies.  Bonds were formed that continue to this day.  She currently resides in Berkeley, CA with her boyfriend, musician Shane Otis and their feline friend Spyder.  She paints while he plays guitar and Spyder drinks from the faucet.

Angeline has always had a penchant for creativity and imagination and as a result, has been pursuing art throughout her life. Her artistic influences range from classic artists such as Edgar Degas, Marc Chagall, Alphonse Mucha, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, to modern pin-up artists such as Alberto Vargas and Olivia De Berardinis, to popular culture by-products such as Ziegfeld Follies Girls, fairy tales and tattoos. Rituals of matriarchal society, sacred femininity and celebrated spirituality translate into inspiration of the highest order as Angeline reaps untold influence as a result of her divine connection with the Goddess.

Angeline's art is a mixed bag of media using materials such as oil and acrylic paints, fabric, paper, mirror and beads and whatever other interesting item she can get her hands on to affix to her canvas.  Every piece is a learning experience and a new adventure.
